Hi, my name is Sam Coons. I am an aspiring scholar, designer, and historian of the built environment. My work explores mediations of identity within themed place, both in explicit spaces (theme parks, tourist attractions, retail experiences) and implicit spaces (real estate, economic development, urban policy).
Currently, I am a dual Master of Regional Planning and Master of Landscape Architecture candidate in the Department of City and Regional Planning and the Department of Landscape Architecture at Cornell University. I completed a B.S. with Honors in Urban and Regional Studies at Cornell University in 2017.
I hope to pursue a career in teaching, research, and public scholarship, finding new modes to expand, share, and better my work. Please visit samuelcoons.weebly.com for more content and contact information!
